About the Reports and Data
For most sites, data consist of wind speed and direction data collected at a height of 20 meters (66 feet). For a handful of locations, data were collected from multiple heights using taller towers. The notes for each location give details on the instrument configuration. For each monitoring site, the following types of files may be available.
Meteorological Data Reports
Meteorological data reports are available for all sites. These reports include diurnal and annual profiles, wind direction roses, wind speed frequency histograms, and turbulence roses and plots. The files were created using WindPro or Windographer. The naming convention uses the site name plus the six-digit monitoring end date (YYMMDD).
Corrected Time Series Data
These files consist of 10-minute time series data in comma delimited format. Incorrect date and time stamps have been fixed. For sites for which these files are provided, there are typically multiple files. The file-naming convention uses the site name plus the six-digit date (YYMMDD) of the beginning of the file. Note: Time-series data from Native American locations are not available for download. These files must be requested from the tribes.
