Location: Boise, ID

Workshop sessions focused on wind technology, economics, policies, pilots for irrigation, development of wind farms and small wind applications, and a review of the draft state strategic plan. This meeting built on Wind Powering America's outreach work over the past year, highlighted in a series of town meetings in Boise, Twin Falls, Pocatello, and Idaho Falls. Wind Powering America also assisted in the development of the state's wind strategic plan and a new Idaho wind resource map, which was released in conjunction with the workshop. Approximately three hundred participants attended. Sponsors included U.S. Senator Crapo, BPA, INEEL, Idaho Department of Commerce/Energy Division, Idaho Rural Council, IAC, IPCo, Idaho Cooperative Utilities Association, Idaho Rural Development, Enron, Florida Light and Power and others.
