In 1999, Clean Air Council together with the Land and Water Fund of the Rockies formed Community Energy, Inc. to market wind power to Pennsylvania businesses. The Council has helped announce over 70 MW of new wind purchases, making Pennsylvania the leader in the eastern United States for wind energy. Clean Air Council, together with nonprofits, governmental agencies and businesses in the renewable energy field, is helping to stimulate demand for wind energy and assure the future of wind energy as a clean renewable source of energy in the state. Please see the website for information about which Pennsylvania businesses and schools have purchased wind energy and what influenced them, how to purchase wind power, and for a map where wind farms are located.
