Recommended Practices 16: Wind Integration Studies

Date: 9/12/2013

The International Energy Agency (IEA) released Recommended Practices 16: Wind Integration Studies, describing the methodologies, study assumptions, and inputs needed to conduct a wind integration study. Based on more than 8 years of work within IEA Wind Task 25: Design and Operation of Power Systems with Large Amounts of Wind Power, the report provides research institutes, consultants, and system operators with the best available information on how to perform a wind integration study. The recommendations will be updated as further work in IEA Wind Task 25 reveals improved integration study methodologies based on real wind integration experiences.
