NREL Seeks Proposals to Advance Distributed Wind Turbine Technology

Date: 4/11/2017

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) released the 5th-round Request for Proposals (RFPs) for the Distributed Wind Competitiveness Improvement Project (CIP). The CIP supports U.S. manufacturers of small and mid-size wind turbines (rotor-swept areas up to 1,000 square meters) in improving their turbine designs and manufacturing processes to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and eventually earn certification demonstrating that the machines meet performance and safety requirements. Read more about how the CIP has allowed Bergey Windpower to release a new wind turbine model. To apply to the latest CIP round, see the RFPs.
